Kathy Martin

I am a NYS Certified Assessor. I currently serve the Town of East Fishkill, and the City of Beacon. I have worked in local government for the last 25 years. Appraising Real Property is fascinating and challenging. I enjoy assisting our citizens, and being involved at that the municipal level as it relates to planning, and development of the communities that I serve. I enjoy doing volunteer work, and have served on many local boards. In my free time I love spending time with my family, reading, hiking, and doing yoga.

Reason for Joining HVHOH Board

I believe in giving back, and I have a personal connection to the HVHOH’s mission as a survivor. I have served on the board of directors for the HVHOH almost since its inception. It has been a truly rewarding and exciting experience taking this organization from the beginning to where we are today. The HVHOH has grown as a organization, and I am honored to be a part of that.

Why HVHOH Matters to You

As a survivor, I know firsthand how important a strong support system is. Not everyone has a family, or a place to go. It is so important to provide a safe place for victims of Domestic Violence. Domestic Violence is a monumental issue in our world. We can help to create change through education and awareness. Through our programs and outreach we can, and do make a difference.

What Hope Means to You

Hope is that little voice inside of you that says it’s going to be ok. Hope is faith, and trust in a better future.
